discipline is a muscle

Everyday I deal with things I don’t want to do, but I have to do.

Have you ever had to do something you don’t want to do? Of course you have.

What happened if you did that thing you didn’t want to do?

Life kept moving, right?

The challenge is getting ourselves to be able to push past the voice saying “I don’t want to” and listening to the voice saying, “you have to.”

That my friends is where disciple comes in.

Discipline to listen to the right voice. Discipline to do the right thing. Discipline to decide & do!

Here’s what I’ve learned…Discipline is a muscle.

Over the course of the first 75 days of my #75Hard journey, I built discipline.

Discipline to say no to certain foods, discipline to ignore the voice in my head that said, “I’m too tired for another workout,” discipline to read every single day.

If you don’t continue to work out that “muscle” of discipline, it will begin to atrophy, just like a real muscle.

Don’t use it, you will lose it. It will weaken.

I’ve experienced this first hand. Some of the disciplines I grew over those initial 75 days, I’ve allowed to atrophy, and I will need to build them again.

The good news is, is there is always another opportunity!

Go out today and build that muscle of discipline.

Let’s GO!!!
